The Starlight Fun Center is a mobile entertainment unit featuring a Sharp AQUOS flat-screen television, a DVD player, a Nintendo Wii™ gaming system and a wide variety of Wii games.

Whether hospitalized children are nervously awaiting surgery, sitting restlessly during a long treatment, or feeling lonely in their hospital room, the Fun Center helps them cope by providing endless hours of fun and distraction.

To date, more than 400 Fun Centers have been sponsored by companies, foundations and individuals and are being enjoyed at hospitals across Canada. The need, however, is great and our waitlist long.

The response from hospitals has been enthusiastic:

I cannot tell you how fantastic these fun centres are! The staff are so excited about them, and of course so are the patients! The fun centres just get more and more clever - we love size, mobility, the games on hard drive, the wired Wii controllers - you have thought of everything. And the fun factor speaks for itself. We are placing the fun centres on our oncology/[bone marrow transplant] ward and our surgical/burn ward. They will be much used and much enjoyed.

Sponsorship

Fun Center sponsorship is currently $5000 which includes the cost of the unit, all taxes, shipping, administration, and repair and maintenance for the life of the Fun Center by dedicated Starlight staff. Sponsors are recognized on a plaque on the Fun Center itself, showcasing their generosity for years to come.
