How To Help

In order to continue our efforts to expand the number and reach of our programs in BC, we need your help! Whether it is by volunteering at a Great Escapes event, racing at Karts 4 Kids, walking at the Dream Walk or getting your company involved in sponsorship, there are many ways to make a difference to the kids here in BC.

VOLUNTEERS

In BC, we offer volunteers a variety of ways to shine in the life of a seriously ill child. Our volunteer program not only brightens a child's life, but it also brightens the life of our volunteers. This rewarding experience allows volunteers to apply their diverse talents in several ways, meet new people and experience fresh challenges. As a volunteer, your time and creative ideas are invaluable and your efforts as part of our volunteer team will bring enjoyable rewards to you and to the Starlight families.

The BC Office is currently accepting volunteer applications for the following positions:

1. Fund Development (Gala Committee, DreamWalk Committee, Karts 4 Kids Committee, Corporate Development team)
2. Communications and Marketing
3. Volunteer Development
4. Great Escapes
5. Grant Writing
6. Office Volunteer
7. Mascot

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

The BC Office is able to deliver the Starlight programs through the generous support of individuals, community groups and local corporate sponsors. As a member of the Canadian Center for Philanthropy and, as such, we do not receive government funding. To raise the necessary funds to support our programs, we depend on the generosity of the general public and our corporate community. There are a variety of ways you can get involved:

• Have your company or organization join us for KART 4 KIDS
• Create a team to walk at DreamWalk 2009
• Become a donor or join our Monthly Giving Program
• Give a personal, professional or corporate gift of a tribute donation
• Send a tribute in celebration of a special event or to commemorate the life of a friend or loved one
• Participate in the Campaign of Wishes and Dreams
• Host a fundraising event
• Invite us to give a presentation to your local community group, school or civic organization.
• Encourage your company to learn more about Starlight and how they can get involved.
