Introducing Thomas Bear
What
is life like for a child with a life-threatening illness
like Cystic Fibrosis? Just ask 10-year-old Thomas,
who has battled the disease since he was born. Last
year, Thomas and his parents left their home in Ottawa
to move to Toronto so that he could receive a double
lung transplant. It's not easy to be so far from friends
and family, especially during a long and often painful
recovery. Throughout his journey, Thomas has taught
everyone lucky enough to get to know him the true
meaning of compassion, strength and determination.
In honor of Thomas' courage, Starlight
asked him to design our 2008 Collectable Bear, which
he was delighted to do. As a result of his efforts
we are proud to present Fuzzy Thomas.
Net proceeds from the sale of this bear
will allow Starlight to continue to help children
like Thomas cope with the pain, fear and isolation
of a serious illness through entertainment, education
and family activities.

practices for soliciting and managing donor dollars.
This is important because everyone involved with the
