12 Kids of Starlight: Meet Joshua

/

The weather has turned and we are bracing ourselves for the cold in the months ahead. We are also reflecting on the year that’s passed, what the year ahead may hold, and for many of us, thinking of how we can ensure happiness in the days and weeks to come. One of these ways is ensuring that as the holidays approach, children spending the season in hospital are not left out of the fun. You can donate to help at 12kids.starlightcanada.org.

Today, we are honoured to introduce you to Joshua.

From the age of 5 Joshua has been adding illnesses to his medical record. Currently they include: Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, juvenile arthritis, gastroparesis, hypotonia, scoliosis and asthma.

He is a strong advocate for everyone suffering adversity in their lives and has regularly spoken about this publicly. Not knowing what the future has in store for him does not deter him from pursuing his dreams.

Having had a Starlight Fun Center in his room during many hospital stays, Joshua knows the importance of play while you’re feeling poorly. That’s why he’s campaigning to raise $2,500 for kids in hospital this holiday season. Being from the Maritimes, he knows that Starlight’s in-hospital programs are more important than ever. Hospitals in this area have particularly told us they need extra support with toys in hospitals this holiday season!

By donating today, you could win a 32GB Apple iPad 9.7” and a Fruits & Passion Relaxation Package! Remember, the prize pool is valued at over $20,000 with a grand prize of 2 Economy Class return tickets for travel to any Air Canada scheduled destination in North America, including Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean!
