We never know what tomorrow brings for our children

/

At 10 years old, Sarah is a huge sports fan who loves attending local games with Starlight’s Day Brightener Wish program. If you follow us on social media, you may remember this past spring she had something to celebrate with her sister and the Blue Jays: one year cancer free. Unfortunately, the celebrations were short lived, as at the end of the summer her family received news no one wants to hear: Sarah’s cancer had returned, and this wasn’t the first time either, in total she has faced this brutal disease four times now. With the thought of such a young body facing more aggressive treatments like chemotherapy and radiation, Sarah and her family were apprehensive, to say the least.

The week before tests confirmed their worst fears, Sarah and her family had a day out at Drive 4 Smiles, where they made memories which now has helped them going into this next round of treatment, knowing that good days are possible between all the bad ones.

It’s for children like Sarah that makes Starlight’s mission so critical, day in and day out, because we never know what tomorrow brings for our children. Your support makes it possible for us to continue make days a little brighter and the treatments more bearable. Donate today.
